The Resort Course designed by Luke Bluske in Simi Valley is a back yard 9 hole putting course. Tee placement is changed often offering a unique experience with elevation, water hazard, leader board and surrounded by beautiful nature and fruit trees. Luke Bluske host an annual Memorial Day tournament where friends and family are invited to enjoy a competitive, fun time at the Resort.
The build of The Resort Course
Lucky enough to score a property with a big back yard after an exhausting home search for our new four person family, we landed this one in a cul-de-sac with a pool that didn't even take up the whole back yard in Simi Valley.
We are Luke Bluske and Isa Brazon and this is how we are building our dream back yard. We want to include you in our adventure and share our dream with our family and friends in Simi Valley.
In our back yard there was a large area of wood ships behind the sodded grass yard area and not where the pool deck was needed and we though it would be great to build a gold putting green there.
Our DG walkway that went around the grass sod yard was packed pretty firm already and I thought it might be a good material to build artificial putting greens from.
After my test build on decomposed granite proved to be an acceptable method of building putting greens, I decided to go to work adding dirt to the big green area. After a dump truck dropped off a free dirt in the front yard I began bringing it to the big green load by load. Compaction with water and a drum roller followed.
Every Memorial Day the Bluske Family hosts a 9 hole two round putting golf tournament and backyard BBQ Party. Luke Bluske runs the putting tournament inviting teams of 2 -4 players to follow a best ball, alternate shot, scramble, or match play among other formats. Friends and family all contribute with snacks and drinks to share and everyone looks forward to the famous Bluske german beer bratwurst made by the legendary Lee Bluske. The RCMD always features a free entry fee, champions brunch for previous tournament winners, and handmade trophies by Luke Bluske as well as other prizes.
This was the inaugural Resort Course Memorial Day Tournament. There was 11 teams of 4 golfers each and everybody played the course twice. Team Sammy Egg and Cheese featuring Jim Marsilio, Serge Mitrofanov, Clay Acker and Sammy ended up clutching up and making a big bogey save on the final hole to win the tournament by 1 stroke with 123 strokes over team JP whom amassed 124 strokes. Eric Roehm won the Mirror of Vanity for being the best dressed golfer of the tournament.

The second RCMD featured 18 teams of 3 golfers, an improved duck pond as well as an improved hole 5 and 6. Teams of 3 played two rounds of best ball before a cut stablished a field of top 10 and ties. After the cut, stroke play deemed every stroke counts. Team Bluske had a commanding lead until the final hole when they choked on the "Widow Maker" and 3 mijos (Dom Lucero, English Al Hampson and Tim Terrell) captured the improbable victory with Lee Bluske winning best dressed.

This RCMD featured 43 teams of 2 golfers each playing a best ball round to make a cut down to the top 11 and ties which turned out to be 15 teams. Stroke play in the final round determined the champions who wound up being Team Bluske: Luke Anton Bluske and Lucas Lee Bluske. Best dressed for this year went to Eric Roehm.

The Resort Course has a permanent All Time Leaderboard standing above the finishing hole. If a golfer makes it on the board (which is the all time course record list and improves) The All Time Leaderboard only keeps track of each individual member's best round. Also, added here (when we get one) the all time Eagles on given holes list will appear. Sometimes we play holes as par 3s and the local wilderness creature rule allows for Eagles to be possible even on par 2 putting holes.
The All Time Leaderboard hosts what its considered The Resort Course membership and it is kept by Luke Bluske.
